Marcia White has dedicated their career to serving their community. Marcia began their work in community development at the University of Nebraska where they facilitated organizational planning and developed projects on trend identification and analysis and community assessment. From there, they became a Peace Corps Volunteer and spent two years helping people in developing countries. After their time in the Peace Corps, they returned to Nebraska and took a position as Director of Community Development Philanthropy at the Nebraska Community Foundation. In this role, they helped make Lincoln the healthiest community in the nation. In 2013, they left the Nebraska Community Foundation to become the Director of Development for UNL's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. In this role, they are responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts for the Institute and its programs.
Marcia White has a Master's in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Bachelor's in Agriculture, Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Diploma in College Prep from Bridgeport High School. Marcia is certified as an Accredited Business Communicator.
Marcia White works with Jessica Janssen Wolford - Senior Director of Development, UNMC Health Sciences, Joey Felici - Director of Development, UNL College of Business, and Will Jones - Director of Development, UNL College of Arts and Sciences. Marcia White reports to Amy Volk, CDO, Nebraska Medicine and SVP, UNMC Development.
