Josh Baker

Josh Baker serves as the Associate Vice President for Research at the University of Nevada, Reno, where responsibilities include enhancing the research enterprise through collaboration, innovation, and infrastructure development. In addition, as Director of the Nevada INBRE, Baker leads efforts to build research infrastructure statewide, support students and junior faculty, and create training opportunities for underrepresented students. Baker holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Hamline University. Additional roles at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine include Professor, Interim Chair of Pharmacology, Associate Professor of Biochemistry, and Assistant Professor, with research focused on muscle contraction and regulation.
