Laura Ott, PhD, currently serves as a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since July 2020. Previously, Laura was the Director of the Science Education Research Unit and the Active Learning Coordinator for STEM BUILD at the University of Maryland Baltimore County from June 2015 to June 2020. Laura's earlier experience includes positions as a Teaching Associate in the Biotechnology Program at North Carolina State University, a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a Graduate Research Associate at North Carolina State University. Laura began their research career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Michigan State University. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Immunology and Biotechnology from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University.
