Tommie Watson

Tommie Watson is an experienced executive with a strong background in nonprofit management and educational administration. Currently serving as the Executive Director at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since March 2015, Tommie collaborates with the part-time IAH Director to develop strategies that support faculty in their professional growth. Previously, as the Chief Operating Officer at Student U, Tommie managed a range of operational functions for a $2 million nonprofit focused on college access for first-generation and low-income students. Earlier roles include Community Outreach Coordinator at North Shore Community College and Executive Director at The Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Partnership and EMPOWER San Diego. Educational qualifications include a B.A. in Sociology, Political Science, and Psychology from Wheaton College Massachusetts and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University.
