Brian Clarey

Brian Clarey is an experienced media professional currently serving as a Media Relations Specialist at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since January 2025. Previously, Clarey held the roles of Publisher/Executive Editor at Triad City Beat from July 2016 to January 2025, and President of Beat Media Inc. from February 2014 to January 2025. An accomplished author since 2010 with Cold Type Press, Clarey also contributed as a Board Member for Alcohol and Drug Services of Guilford County from June 2017 to October 2019. Clarey was the Founding Editor of YES! Weekly from December 2004 to November 2013, where significant growth and multiple awards were achieved. Additional experience includes freelance writing and editing roles for various publications, with a Bachelor’s degree in communications and print journalism from Loyola University New Orleans.
