Bryn Baxendale

Bryn Baxendale has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in quality and patient safety improvement. Currently serving as a Human Factors Advisor and Lead for Safer Surgery and Invasive Procedures at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust since February 1998, Bryn also holds roles as a Consultant Anaesthetist and Clinical Advisor to NHS England's TEL, focusing on simulation and immersive learning technologies. In academia, Bryn is Clinical Lead for the MSc in Quality & Patient Safety Improvement at the University of Nottingham and an Honorary Professor in Clinical Simulation at the School of Psychology. Previous leadership positions include Director of the Trent Simulation & Clinical Skills Centre and Chair of the Simulation Working Group at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, contributing to a national simulation strategy. Additional involvement spans past presidency at the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare and membership on the SSiH Academy Selection Committee, emphasizing a commitment to enhancing educational practices in healthcare simulation.
