Frank Witlox

Frank Witlox holds a prominent academic position as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Member of the Academia Europaea. Currently serving as Head of Department and Senior Full Professor of Economic Geography at Ghent University, Witlox has an extensive career in academia with roles ranging from Assistant Professor to Chairman of the Institute for Sustainable Mobility. Additionally, Witlox serves as Editor in Chief for the European Transport Research Review and has received honorary doctorates in Geography from the University of Tartu and Doctor honoris causa from Odessa National Polytechnic University. Further contributions include visiting professorships at various institutions including Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Witlox's education includes a Ph.D. from Eindhoven University of Technology and master's degrees in Maritime Sciences and Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp.
