Peter Meineck

Peter Meineck is a distinguished academic and founder with a strong background in Classics and Ancient World Studies. Serving as a Professor of Classics in the Modern World at New York University since September 1999, Meineck also holds the position of Honorary Professor of Classics at the University of Nottingham since September 2012. As the founder of Aquila Theatre, established in July 1990, contributions to the field of drama and classical education are significant. Meineck has also served as a lecturer at Princeton University for a brief period in 2002-2003. In addition to academic pursuits, Meineck gained practical experience in emergency services as a firefighter and EMT with the Bedford Fire Department/KBHVAC from January 2009 to February 2023. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Ancient World Studies from UCL and a PhD in Classics from the University of Nottingham.
