Phil Quinlan is a Professor of Digital Engineering and Health Informatics at the University of Nottingham, where roles also include Director of Health Informatics and Head of the Digital Research Service, overseeing the Advanced Data Analysis Centre. Previously, Phil served as the National Node Director for the UK at BBMRI.uk, contributing to the establishment of a pan-European biobanking network for health research. Phil has extensive experience in breast cancer research, having led informatics capabilities for the Breast Cancer Campaign Tissue Bank while serving as Deputy Chair of the Operations Group and IT Lead. Phil holds two Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Medical Informatics and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Applied Computing from the University of Dundee.
