Bill Yates

Bill Yates currently serves as the Vice Chancellor for Research Protections at the University of Pittsburgh, where responsibilities include oversight of regulatory compliance and the role of Institutional Official for animal and human subject research programs. In addition, Bill Yates holds the position of Co-Director of the Office of Research Protections at the same institution, focusing on the ethical and regulation-compliant conduct of research. Bill Yates is also the Editor-in-Chief for Springer Nature and previously served as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Neurophysiology. A member of the Board of Directors for Americans for Medical Progress, Bill Yates has held various leadership roles in professional organizations, including Council Member for the American Physiological Society and Board of Trustees member for AAALAC International. Bill Yates's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Florida and postdoctoral training in Neurophysiology from The Rockefeller University.
