Geoffrey Neumann

Geoffrey Neumann is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, focusing on the interaction of evolution, genetic drift, environmental selection, and dispersal in marine microbial plankton through computer models, particularly Lineage Based Models. Previously, Geoffrey served as a Consultant (Computational Geoscientist) at MarineSpace Ltd, where work involved writing environmental reports on oceanography for offshore wind farms and researching thermal conductivity of subsea sediments. Additional roles include Research Engineer at the IT Innovation Centre, contributing to diverse projects involving machine learning and natural language processing, and Post-doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Stirling, co-leading an EPSRC grant and developing the Astraiea Java library. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computing Science from the University of Stirling and a Master's in Oceanography from the University of Southampton.
