Sam Mangham

Sam Mangham is a highly experienced Senior Research Software Engineer at the University of Southampton since January 2022 and has been contributing to the Software Sustainability Institute as a Research Software Engineer since January 2018. Previously, Sam held the role of Research Software Engineer at the Research Software Group from January 2018 to February 2022 and served as a Postgraduate Research Student at the University of Southampton from September 2013 to July 2019, focusing research on Radiation Transfer Modelling of Active Galactic Nuclei. Sam's earlier experience includes working as a Radiation Transport Analyst at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Complex Systems Simulation/High Energy Astrophysics from the University of Southampton, an MSc in Physics and Technology of Nuclear Reactors from the University of Birmingham, and a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath.
