Susan Gourvenec

Susan Gourvenec is a Professor of Offshore Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Southampton, a position held since September 2017. Previously, Susan held the role of Professor at The University of Western Australia from March 2001 to October 2019 and served as Principal Consultant at Advanced Geomechanics Pty Ltd from August 2009 to August 2017. Earlier in her career, Susan was a Research Fellow at the Engineering Department of the University of Cambridge from March 1998 to March 2000. Susan holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Southampton (1995-1998) and a BEng Hons in Civil Engineering from Queen Mary and Westfield, University of London (1991-1994).
