Richard Bellingham

Richard Bellingham is a seasoned professional in the fields of energy policy and urban sustainability, currently serving as Director of the Institute for Future Cities and Director for Smart Sustainable Cities at the University of Strathclyde since 2007. Richard also holds the position of Senior Research Fellow and Energy Theme Coordinator at the university. In addition, Richard has been the Director of the Institute for Future Cities since March 2013 and previously served as Deputy Director of the Fraser of Allander Institute from 2011 to 2015. Richard's extensive experience in the Scottish Government from 1996 to 2007 includes roles such as Head of Energy Policy, Head of Energy Projects, Head of Digital Inclusion, Head of e-Government Strategy, and Head of Corporate IS Strategy. Richard holds an MBA from The University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Fuel and Energy Engineering from the University of Leeds.
