Chanaka Jayawardhena

Chanaka Jayawardhena is a Professor of Marketing and Head of the Department of Marketing & Retail Management at the University of Surrey since February 2020. Jayawardhena has also served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Hull and the University of Jyväskylä. With main interests in CRM, digital marketing, and consumer behavior, Jayawardhena has published numerous papers in prominent journals such as the Journal of Business Research and Tourism Management. In addition to academic roles, Jayawardhena is the Managing Director of CJAY Consulting, a research and consultancy firm specializing in technology-related projects. Previous academic positions include Professor of Marketing at the University of Hull and Senior Lecturer at Loughborough University. Jayawardhena holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, a PhD in Marketing from De Montfort University, and a First Class BSc (Hons) from the University of Moratuwa.
