Tom Hussey

Tom Hussey is an experienced Laboratory Operations Manager currently serving as the Pathology and Building Facility Manager at the University of Surrey since December 2016. In this role, Tom oversees level 2 and 3 laboratories, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while optimizing laboratory operations. Previously, as the Post Mortem Facilities Manager at the Veterinary Pathology Centre, Tom managed commercial animal post mortem work and research projects within high containment facilities. Tom also worked at the Animal and Plant Health Agency for nearly a decade, serving as a Post Mortem Technician where responsibilities included conducting post mortems on large animals and participating in significant long-term projects, along with earlier experience as an Animal Technician in high containment facilities, focusing on animal welfare and procedural assistance.
