Arko Lucieer

Head, Geography, Planning & Spatial Sciences at University of Tasmania

Arko Lucieer is currently the Head of School in Geography, Planning, and Spatial Sciences and a Professor in Remote Sensing at the University of Tasmania, a position held since June 2004. Lucieer has a rich background in academia, having served in various capacities including Deputy Head of School and Associate Professor in Remote Sensing. Additionally, Lucieer has experience as a Remote Sensing Analyst at the Australian Antarctic Division, where involvement included processing satellite imagery and conducting workshops. Lucieer completed a PhD in Remote Sensing at the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) in The Netherlands and holds an MSc in Physical Geography from Utrecht University.
