Jerome Cowans is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in corporate social responsibility, education, and policy analysis. Currently serving as a Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist at Carib Cement Company Limited since September 2019, Jerome also contributes as a University Lecturer at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, focusing on Business Communications and Project Development and Management. Previous roles include Policy Analyst and Research Fellow at the Office of the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Programmes and Logistics Coordinator at Projects Abroad, and Instructor at SENA. Jerome's experience is complemented by positions in marketing and sales, including Marketing Officer at Junior Achievement of Jamaica and Sales Officer at Scotiabank. Academically, Jerome holds a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Birmingham, a Leadership Certificate from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of the West Indies, Mona.

The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) is Jamaica’s largest, fastest-growing, non-affiliated private institution of higher education, and is now one of five higher education entities with the accolade of institutional accreditation from the University Council of Jamaica. UCC is also institutionally accredited internationally by the UK-based Accreditation Service for Independent Colleges and Universities. UCC is headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica, with five physical campuses and UCC Online. UCC was formed in 2004, as a result of a merger in 2002 of the Institute of Management Sciences, which was incorporated in 1992, and the Institute of Management and Production, which was incorporated in 1976.
