Darren Bailey

Darren Bailey is an experienced rowing coach with a diverse background in competitive coaching and athlete development. Currently serving as the Lead Rowing Coach at Wycliffe College since October 2021 and a Rowing Coach at the University of the West of England since December 2021, Darren has also contributed as a Junior Women's Sculling Coach for Team England in July 2024 and as Lead Rowing Coach for Team Wales during the Home International Regatta in July 2022. Previous roles include Senior Men's Coach at City of Bristol Rowing Club and Junior Rowing Coach at Gloucester Rowing Club, focusing on athlete development and competitive preparation. Additionally, Darren gained valuable experience as an intern coach at Hartpury Rowing Academy and as a performance analyst at Gloucester Rugby. Darren holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Sports Studies from Hartpury University and Hartpury College.
