Leslie Spencer is a PhD candidate in Food Systems at the University of Vermont, focusing research on wild pollinator conservation and education, under the guidance of Stephanie Hurley and Taylor Ricketts. With experience as a graduate teaching assistant, Leslie has taught courses in agroecology, landscape design, and permaculture. As a communications specialist at the UVM Institute for Agroecology, Leslie co-managed social media accounts and created outreach materials. Previous roles include post-bac research assistant at Tufts University, teaching fellow at Harvard University, field technician at the University of Minnesota, and various research and teaching positions at Tufts. Leslie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Systems, and Nutrition from Tufts University and graduated high school with a strong academic record.
