Emily Yen, Ph.D., is a highly accomplished academic with a background in sociology. Currently serving as a Visiting Faculty Scholar at the University of Virginia since August 2020, Emily has previously held the role of ARPA Coordinator/Researcher at the Virginia Education Association from August 2022 to February 2024 and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Trinity College-Hartford from July 2018 to June 2020. Emily also has leadership experience as President of the UC Student-Workers Union UAW 2865 from April 2017 to September 2018. Emily earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology, a Master of Arts in Sociology, and a Graduate Certificate in Urban Humanities, all from UCLA, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Smith College.
