John Phillips

John Phillips is an experienced safety professional with a strong background in health and safety management. Since February 2014, John has held several positions at the University of Warwick, currently serving as the Director of Health and Safety. Prior to this, John was the Principal Examiner for NEBOSH from 2006 to March 2016, where responsibilities included marking papers and training examiners. John's leadership experience also includes roles as Head/Director of Products and Services at the British Safety Council from November 2008 to February 2014, and Head of Training and Consultancy at Norwich Union/Aviva and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. Earlier career highlights include serving as Head of Health and Safety at British Rail and as an Air Engineering Artificer in the Royal Navy. John holds a BSc in Psychology from The Open University and has completed the NEBOSH Diploma and an HNC in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Yeovil College.
