Golden Owens is currently a 2022-2023 Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellow at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and a PhD candidate at Northwestern University, specializing in Screen Cultures within the Department of Radio/TV/Film. Owens has served as an interdisciplinary graduate assistant at the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities, curating events, and has extensive experience in academic mentoring, having worked in the Northwestern University Office of Fellowships to provide feedback on fellowship applications and conduct mock interviews. Previous roles include lead program instructor at Bowdoin College for the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship program, where Owens planned and facilitated research training programs and seminars. Owens holds a PhD and MA from Northwestern University, as well as a BA from Bowdoin College.
