Robert A. Griffin

Robert A. Griffin serves as an Associate Professor of Literacy Education at the University of West Georgia since January 2016, where responsibilities include designing and teaching graduate-level courses in reading/literacy and TESOL, coordinating literacy programs, and conducting research with educators. Griffin previously held roles as Assistant Department Chair and Assistant Professor of Literacy Education, along with experience as a part-time instructor and graduate teaching assistant. Prior to the university position, Griffin worked for ten years in K-12 education, notably as ESOL Lead Teacher at Rockdale County Public Schools, where contributions included mentoring new teachers and improving student performance for English Learners. The educational background includes a Doctorate in Education from the University of West Georgia, alongside multiple degrees from Valdosta State University, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Education earned summa cum laude.
