Belen Gonzalez

Belen Gonzalez is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in the field of political science and international relations. Currently serving as the Head of Research for International Security, Peace, and Conflict at the University of Zurich since February 2023, Belen Gonzalez is also a Guest Professor at the University of Konstanz for a project on mass protest events from 2024 to 2027. Previous roles include Senior Researcher at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and Assistant Professor at Leuphana University of Lüneburg, along with post-doctoral and teaching positions at the University of Mannheim and the University of Essex. Educational credentials comprise a PhD and an MA in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Essex, along with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
