Subhash Chandra M.D., Dfapa

Subhash Chandra, MD, DFAPA has a diverse work experience in the field of psychiatry. Subhash currently holds the position of Medical Director at The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES), where they have been serving since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Psychiatrist at CASES from April 2021 to May 2022.

Dr. Chandra's previous roles include Medical Director at University Settlement Society of New York, starting in October 2020. Subhash is also an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Neurology and Cognitive Neuroscience since January 2022.

In terms of professional leadership, Dr. Chandra served as the Chair of the Young Physician Section at the Medical Society of the State of New York from March 2021 to February 2022. Subhash also held the position of Past Chair at the American Medical Association from July 2019 to June 2020.

Dr. Chandra has been involved in academia as well. Subhash worked as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine from June 2017 to June 2020. Subhash was also the Unit Chief and Attending Psychiatrist at Northwell Health from December 2017 to May 2020.

Prior to that, Dr. Chandra served as a Forensic Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, working at Kings County Hospital Center from July 2016 to November 2017. Subhash completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System from July 2015 to June 2016.

Dr. Chandra began their medical career as a Resident Physician at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in July 2011, where they completed their residency in June 2015.

Subhash Chandra, MD, DFAPA completed their MBBS degree at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences. Later, they pursued further education and received their M.D. degree specializing in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology from Lady Hardinge Medical College.
