Juliette Touma has a comprehensive work experience in communications and advocacy roles within the United Nations system. Juliette began their career in 2003 as an Advocacy Officer before taking on roles as a Public Information Officer and Spokesperson. Juliette also served as the Head of Communications at UNDP and as a Spokesperson to the UN Special Envoy for Syria. Juliette has extensive experience in crisis communication and emergency response as a Regional Spokesperson and Emergency Communications Specialist at UNICEF. Most recently, Juliette is the current Director of Communications at UNRWA, a position they started in 2022.
Juliette Touma obtained a Master of Arts degree in Global Media & Postnational Communications from SOAS University of London in the academic year 2007-2008.

Created by the UN General Assembly in 1949, UNRWA provides assistance and protection to some 5.5 million Palestine refugees to help them achieve their full potential in human development. UNRWA human development and humanitarian services encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance and emergency response, including in situations of armed conflict.
