Justin Bates

Justin Bates is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in senior leadership roles. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at UpKeep since July 2025, Justin previously held the position of EVP of Finance at Greenlight Guru, where the focus was on providing cloud-based solutions for the MedTech industry. Prior experience includes significant roles at SmarterHQ, where Justin built the FP&A function and managed key financial operations, and as CEO & Co-Founder of MaxTradeIn, an online marketplace for the auto industry. Justin's background also includes positions in accounting and finance management at First Merchants Corporation, 40|86 Advisors, KPMG, and as a summer intern at Haverstick Consulting. Justin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Accounting from Ball State University.
