Lisa Leroy

VP, MEL at Upstream USA

Lisa Leroy is the Vice President of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (VP of MEL) representing Upstream’s commitment to continuous and responsive program improvement. With over 25 years of health care services experience, she is always striving to improve patient care. Her background includes health services monitoring, research and evaluation, quality improvement (QI) consulting and hospital management.

She was a senior health services researcher/thought leader at Abt Associates for nineteen years, managing a portfolio of projects on care transformation and implementation, social determinants and payment reform. She led large, complex, cross-functional project teams supervised and mentored staff, initiated and managed new business opportunities, and conducted research. Lisa led projects through all phases: study design, protocol development, data collection, analysis and dissemination. Prior to her research career, she was an independent health care consultant and coached ambulatory care practices on how to improve care quality and increase patient-centeredness. She also worked for two academic medical centers in Boston in the areas of strategic planning, health services management, and community health.

She collaborates closely with clients, team members, subcontractor partners, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders. Lisa has a deep understanding of the U.S. health care system and the perspectives of its many diverse stakeholders.
