Susie Kim, MPH, MSW is the Director of Practice Transformation Operations (Reporting) at Upstream USA. Prior to joining Upstream, Susie spent nearly a decade working in clinical research, with a focus on advancing treatment and reducing barriers to healthcare services for vulnerable populations. Most recently, she managed a team of researchers at the Boston University School of Public Health to implement studies aiming to improve health outcomes for people with substance use disorders and HIV infection.

Upstream USA works to expand opportunity by reducing unplanned pregnancy across the U.S. They work in partnership with health centers to strengthen reproductive care and autonomy by increasing equitable access to the full range of contraceptive options. Founded in 2014, Upstream is on track to achieve nationwide impact at scale. Their goal through 2024 is to partner with health centers that serve over 1 million women across four states. This ambitious plan for growth has received generous support from philanthropic individuals and foundations, including a $60 million lead investment by Blue Meridian Partners. Their unique approach has been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, the Atlantic, CNN, Vox, and Marie Claire.
