Rakesh Aithal

Rakesh Aithal, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Scientist I at US Pharmacopeia since December 2023. Prior to this, Rakesh held the position of Manager at GeneSys Biologics, focusing on the structural characterization of peptide and protein therapeutics and contributing to the comparative analytical similarity assessment of biosimilars. Rakesh's experience also includes serving as Team Lead in Analytical R&D at Samarth Life Sciences, where emphasis was placed on biosimilar development and characterization. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique, Rakesh investigated DNA repair and recombination mechanisms in relation to cancer and infertility. Rakesh’s academic journey includes a PhD in Biomolecular Chemistry from Masaryk University, where research concentrated on DNA double strand break formation, as well as a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Mysore.
