Yang Liu

Yang Liu is a highly experienced professional in the field of natural products chemistry and pharmacognosy, currently serving as a Senior Scientist II and Scientific Liaison for General Chapters at US Pharmacopeia since January 2018. Prior roles at US Pharmacopeia include Manager of Product Quality and Analytical Methods, as well as Project Manager/Supervisor in the same department. Yang served as a Visiting Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from February 2019 to January 2023. Prior academic experience includes positions as a USP Global Fellow, Research Assistant, and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago from August 2012 to December 2017. Yang Liu holds a PhD in Natural Products Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago, as well as a Master's degree in Botany from the Key Laboratory of Forest Plant Ecology and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Northeast Forestry University.
