Patrick Washington possesses extensive experience in strategic management, program analysis, and education within public administration and financial management. Currently serving as the Chief of Strategic Management at the USPTO since February 2014, Patrick oversees the Trademark Division's Enterprise Risk Management Program while managing risk assessments and program evaluations. Previous roles include Project Manager and Business Intelligence Analyst at the Trademark Analytics Group, and Senior Program Analyst at both the USPTO and the US Small Business Administration, where Patrick led audits and assessments of programs. Additionally, Patrick has been an active adjunct professor at institutions such as George Mason University and American University, teaching courses in public accounting, finance, and administration. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. (ABD) in Public Administration and Policy from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Mercer University, Patrick actively contributes as a board member of the American Association for Budget and Program Analysis.
