Rakhyun E. Kim is an Associate Professor of Earth System Governance at Utrecht University, where involvement spans from June 2016 to the present. Previously, Rakhyun served as an Assistant Professor of Global Environmental Governance, achieving tenure in 2019, also at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. Since May 2021, Rakhyun has been a Principal Investigator for the European Research Council's PROBLEMSHIFTING programme, focusing on the dynamics between international environmental treaty regimes. Prior positions include Research Fellow roles at Griffith University Law School and Australian National University College of Law, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability. Rakhyun holds a PhD in International Environmental Law and Governance from The Australian National University, as well as multiple degrees from The University of Auckland, including a Master of Environmental Law, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Geography.
