Maarten Matienko

Maarten Matienko is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategic communication and public affairs, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Relations and Media and Strategic Communication Director at VAB since July 1996. In this role, Maarten leads the ‘City Mobility’ program, oversees media relations, public affairs, and provides strategic communication advice to the CEO. Additionally, Maarten holds the position of Managing Partner at Inspirator2 and serves as a board member at Vlaamse Stichting Verkeerskunde since January 2024. Maarten's educational background includes a Master in Marketing & Communication from Katholieke Universiteit Brussel, a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Groep T - Internationale Hogeschool Leuven, and a Master's degree in Philosophy & Theology from KU Leuven.
