Hugo Barreto

Hugo Barreto is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in social development and cultural initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of Clime, Nature and Culture at Vale and holding multiple CEO positions within Vale's foundations, Hugo has significantly contributed to the intersection of sustainability and social investment. Prior to joining Vale in January 2019, Hugo was the Secretary-General of the Fundação Roberto Marinho, where leadership in educational inclusion programs and cultural projects marked a transformative period in Brazilian education and heritage. Notably, Hugo played a key role in establishing Canal Futura and producing influential television series, as well as designing renowned museums in Brazil. Hugo's academic background includes studies at Fundação Dom Cabral and Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
