Sheila Bottjen

Sheila Bottjen currently serves as the Director of Technology - Operational Risk Management at Valero Energy Corporation, a position held since August 2007. In this role, Sheila focuses on improving risk analysis tools for process safety scenarios, particularly for HF Alkylation Units, by leveraging industry incident data and engaging with experts. Prior to this, Sheila held various engineering roles at Valero, ConocoPhillips, Ambitech Engineering, Premcor Refining, ExxonMobil, and Mobil Oil, with responsibilities ranging from process safety engineering to project management and technical support for refining processes. Sheila holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University, obtained in 1997.
