Dr. Alesha H. has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Dr. Alesha currently serves as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Valor Collegiate Academies, where they lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive DEI strategy. Prior to this role, they worked as an Assistant Principal and Equity Co-Chair at the same organization, providing coaching to teachers and supporting curriculum development.
Dr. Alesha H. also has experience as a STEM Coach and Math Instructor at Valor Collegiate Academies, where they provided coaching to teachers, led a team of math instructors, and contributed to the recruitment process. Dr. Alesha has also worked as a Zumba Instructor at Zumba, an Actress in theatre, and held various roles at Teach For America, Rocketship Public Schools, KIPP Nashville, and Metro Nashville Public Schools. These roles ranged from school director to teacher leadership development manager and math instructor. Additionally, they worked as a Voice Over Artist at Mount Zion Media and Marketing.
Dr. Alesha H. has a comprehensive education history, starting with their Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010. Dr. Alesha then went on to pursue their Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lipscomb University, graduating in 2013. In 2014, they continued their education at Lipscomb University by obtaining an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, which they completed in 2016.
In pursuit of further knowledge and expertise, Dr. Alesha H. obtained a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University, which they earned in 2020.
In addition to their degree programs, Dr. Alesha H. has obtained several certifications. In 2017, they received the Beginning Administrator License ILL-B from the Tennessee Department of Education. The following year, in 2018, they obtained the Education: Professional Educator Certificate, also from the Tennessee Department of Education.
