Pamela Watson has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Pamela began their career as an intern at Nashville Public Radio in 2004. Pamela then worked as a temporary associate in various positions until they secured a permanent role as a legal secretary at the Tennessee State Attorney General's Office in 2006. From 2007 to 2009, Pamela worked for the State of Tennessee, providing administrative and grant writing assistance for the Department of Health's Division of Maternal and Child Health.
In 2009, Pamela joined Vanderbilt University, initially as a Grants Review Analyst and later as a Contract Coordinator. Pamela then transitioned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they held positions such as Industry Contracts Analyst, Grants Manager, and Sr. Project Manager. Currently, Pamela serves as the Lead Project Manager for Dr. Sean Collins in the Emergency Medicine Research Division at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Throughout their career, Pamela has shown expertise in grants management, proposal preparation, financial management, contract negotiation, and project management. Pamela has applied their extensive research administration experience to analyze and negotiate contract terms for industry-sponsored clinical trials, government-funded research agreements, and investigator-initiated clinical trials.
Pamela Watson obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they attended from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, they received certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in October 2021 and as a Clinical Research Contract Professional from Model Agreements & Guidelines International in November 2015.
