Laura Carnell

Laura Carnell is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience in higher education and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Development at Vanderbilt University since October 2022, Laura previously held similar roles at Illinois State University, including Director of Development and Associate Director of Development within the College of Business. Prior to this, Laura gained valuable experience as a Development & Events Specialist at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee and as a Sales Specialist at ConferenceDirect. Additional roles include Key Account Service Team Coordinator and HR Territory Coordinator at Sunbelt Rentals, as well as Development Assistant at Jacob's Ladder Job Center. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
