Joel Dickson serves as the Global Head of Advice Methodology at Vanguard since February 1996, overseeing investment and wealth management methodology development for individual investors. Previous roles at Vanguard include Principal positions, where leadership encompassed investment research and development of innovative investment products, management of over $30 billion in active quantitative equity strategies, and ETF thought leadership through original research. From 2007 to 2018, Joel contributed as a Board Member for Clarifi, a non-profit aiding individuals with financial literacy. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Staff Economist at the Federal Reserve Board, where analysis of mutual fund and pension fund flows was conducted. Joel holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University and an A.B. in Economics and Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis.
