Dr. Whittle MD, PhD joined Vapotherm in February of 2022 as the VP of Clinical Research and was promoted to Chief Medical Officer in January 2023. She is a Professor and Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga/ Erlanger Health System. She lectures both nationally and internationally on respiratory support and critical care and has been a featured guest on prominent EM podcasts, including EM:RAP and ACEP FrontLine. Dr. Whittle was a contributing author to the ACEP Field Guide to COVID-19 which has been reproduced in 6 languages and more than 120 countries. She has authored 60+ peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts.
Dr. Whittle received her undergraduate degree at Appalachian State University, her Ph.D. in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis from Emory University, and her MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Her EM Residency training was completed at Orlando Regional Hospital, Orlando, FL.
