Tommy Bennett is a finance professional with expertise in commercial and strategic finance within the sustainability sector. Currently serving as the Commercial & Strategic Finance Lead at Varaha, Bennett focuses on connecting smallholder farmers with carbon markets through various carbon removal initiatives across multiple countries, including India and sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, Bennett was the Head of Strategic Projects at The Landbanking Group, where efforts were centered on integrating natural capital values into economic decision-making. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Associate at Blue Impact Ventures, engaging in deal sourcing and research across energy, food systems, carbon markets, and biodiversity. Earlier positions include Senior Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company and Co-Founder & Manager at East West Tea. Bennett holds an MSc in Climate Change, Management and Finance from Imperial College London, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Rice University, where athletic leadership was demonstrated as the Division 1 NCAA Tennis Captain.
