Alex Pearlman

Alex Pearlman currently serves in the role of Communications and Marketing at Varda Space Industries, starting in March 2024. Previously, Alex was the Director of Communications for Ginkgo Bioworks' biosecurity unit, where responsibilities included managing external communications and storytelling initiatives. Academic involvement includes a Research Affiliate position at the MIT Media Lab, focusing on bioethics, and work as an Ethics Researcher and Digital Ethnographer at the University of Pennsylvania. Alex has also contributed as a Science and Technology Writer, producing content for various notable publications, and held editorial roles at institutions such as the Biodesign Challenge and Harvard Law School's Petrie-Flom Center. Educational qualifications comprise a Master's Degree in Bioethics and Society from King's College London and a Bachelor's Degree in Print Journalism from Suffolk University.
