Oleksii Shtankevych has a strong background in computer vision and algorithm development. Oleksii started their career at Lasca Leasing in 2008 as an IT Expert. In 2011, they joined Materialise as a Research Engineer, focusing on algorithms research and development for medical software. Oleksii later became a Senior Research Engineer and Team Lead, overseeing a talented group of algorithm developers and contributing to multiple releases of the Mimics Innovation Suite. In 2019, Oleksii joined Varjo as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, and eventually transitioned to the role of Lead Computer Vision Engineer in March 2021.
Oleksii Shtankevych's education history is as follows:
- From 2003 to 2009, they studied at the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute', earning a Master's degree in Computer Science.
- In 2007-2008, they attended Hochschule Merseburg as a student, focusing on Computer Science.
- Oleksii then pursued further studies at the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute': from 2009 to 2012, they were a PhD student in Information Technology and Computer Science.
- Finally, from 2012 to 2013, Oleksii was a PhD candidate of Engineering Science, specializing in Information Technology and Computer Science at the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute'.
