Michael J. Finney

Michael Finney is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the biotech and life sciences sectors. Currently serving as Board Chair and Interim Chief Executive Officer at Vaxart, Inc. since 2024, Finney has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2007 and previously held the CEO position from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, Finney holds leadership roles within various organizations, including Board Chair at Thrive Bioscience, Inc. and KaRNATeq, as well as Director positions at S2 Genomics, seqWell Inc., and Orion Genomics. Finney's academic background includes an AB in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and completion of Stanford Directors' College at Stanford Law School.
