John van Vorst

John Van Vorst possesses extensive experience in advanced metering systems and infrastructure management. Currently serving as Manager of Advanced Metering Systems at CenterPoint Energy since February 2019, John has a strong background at Vectren, where John began in January 1990 and held multiple managerial roles, including Manager of Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Manager of I/T Systems Infrastructure. Responsibilities have included the implementation and support of advanced meter infrastructure for 250,000 electric and gas meters, overseeing mesh network management, and leading data networking and server administration teams. John’s technical expertise was further demonstrated in an earlier role as a Programmer Analyst, focusing on COBOL programming and network management. John holds a Master’s in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems, and an Associate’s in Electrical Engineering Technology, all from the University of Southern Indiana.
