Kris Hart has had a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They started their career as an Intern Policy Analyst with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2009. Afterwards, they worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Queen's University, where they conducted research, provided reports, and facilitated lectures and tutorials. In 2012, they served as a Policy Specialist for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, performing tasks like analyzing executive documents and budget monitoring. In 2013, they became a Researcher with the International Coastal Network at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2017, they co-founded Proximas Technologies, where they also worked as a Software Developer. From 2017 to 2022, Kris worked at Verafin, starting as a Software Developer and eventually taking on roles such as Technical Team Lead, Product Owner for AML Analytics, and currently serving as the Director of Product Development, Anti-Money Laundering Detection.
Kris Hart completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2011, Kris pursued a Master's of Environmental Studies (MES) in Public Policy Analysis at Queen's University. Kris's undergraduate studies were focused on Political Science and Government (Honours), earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, which was completed from 2004 to 2009.
