Dan Ryan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Dan started their career as a Command and Data Handling Team member at Boston University Student Satellite (BUSAT) in 2008. After that, they worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department from 2009 to 2010. Following this, they served as a Research Assistant at the Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they joined Bloomberg as a Financial Software Developer. In 2011, they co-founded and served as CEO of ByteLight until it was acquired by Acuity Brands in 2015. At Acuity Brands, Dan continued to work as the VP Product, IoT Solutions until 2017. Currently, they are the CEO and co-founder of VergeSense, a position they have held since 2017.

From 2006 to 2010, Dan Ryan attended Boston University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
