As senior vice president and global controller at Verisign, John Calys is responsible for all corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax strategy and enterprise risk management. He also serves as chairperson of the 401K committee. His career spans more than 35 years of extensive experience in financial management and business leadership.
John joined Verisign in December 2010, and during his tenure, he has played key leadership roles across the company, including serving as interim chief financial officer during 2011 and 2012. Previously, he served as the vice president and controller for XO Communications, Inc., vice president and assistant treasurer for Sprint Nextel Corporation, and vice president & assistant controller for Nextel Communications, Inc.
John graduated with a Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
